Manchester United have identified Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen as the perfect replacement for Real Madrid-bound David De Gea, according to the Express.
The German international only joined the Camp Nou outfit last summer from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach but admits he is struggling to adapt to life in Spain.
And with De Gea edging closer to a move to Real Madrid, new Old Trafford chief Louis Van Gal believes Ter Stegen is just the glovesman to replace the Spaniard with a minimal settling in period.
Ter Stegen’s lack of game time so far this season could persuade both parties that a move a way would be best for all.
Van Gaal is expected to make a move for the keeper within the next few weeks in the hope of getting a deal in place for as soon as the January transfer window opens.
