While Chelsea and Manchester City have signed the likes of Juan Cuadrado and Wilfried Bony, Manchester United completed probably the strangest deal this month, signing young left-back Andy Kellett in a loan deal from Bolton Wanderers.
The capture sparked a fury of bewildered United fans to lash out on Twitter, with many confused why Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal didn’t go into the market in an attempt to sign a world-class centre-back.
But could Van Gaal know something that the fans do not? Has he possibly pulled off the best transfer business of the January window?
Because according to the video below, Kellett scored a solo goal that would make Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi proud, collecting the ball from the left side of the pitch before drifting past four or five players and then toe-poking the ball into the bottom corner of the net for Plymouth earlier this season.
Watch out Luke Shaw, Kellett’s coming for your position!
