Man United join Spurs in race for England under-21 ace

Tottenham Hotspur are set to be joined by Liverpool and Manchester United in the race for Saido Berahino, according to reports in the Metro.

The England under-21 star saw a move to White Hart Lane break down on deadline day, and vowed never to appear for the Baggies again.

However, he has since returned to Tony Pulis’ side and is back in the goals – scoring the winner in a crucial clash with fellow strugglers Sunderland yesterday.

Reports suggest Wayne Rooney’s struggles have tempted Red Devils chief Louis van Gaal into adding more firepower to his ranks, with only Anthony Martial scoring regularly as a central striker.

The 22-year old bad-boy Baggie scored 20 goals in 45 games for the Midlands outfit last term, and is considered one of the top attacking talents in the country.

His winner over the Black Cats on Saturday took his tally up to three for the season, and impressed in a fixture between the Hawthorns side and United last season.

He had previously been linked with Liverpool, though they have since added Danny Ings and Christian Benteke to their ranks.
