Man United joint leaders in race for £29.2m Liverpool fan

Manchester United are joint front-runners with French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the race for Atletico Madrid’s Arda Turan, according to reports from Goal Turkey.

The Turkey international looks set to leave the 2013/14 La Liga champions in the coming months, with his agent, Ahmet Bulut, having revealed that he and his client are searching for “better options”.

And reports now claim that PSG and Untied are seen as just that, with the two clubs keen on the 28-year-old.

Although the Parisians are understood to have discussed a possible deal with Turan’s agent, United are very much in the hunt and are believed to be ready to trigger his release clause, which is set at just below £29.2m.

With the self-confessed Liverpool fan a versatile midfielder – he’s able to play on either flank or centrally – his presence could help Louis van Gaal to mount a serious challenge for Champions League and domestic glory next term.
