Manchester United are looking at both Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger as they continue to plot their summer transfer business, according to reports from BBC Sport.
The Red Devils limped into fourth spot last season, gaining Champions League qualification, and have already bolstered their ranks with the addition of Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven.
However, their transfer work is far from done, with Louis van Gaal eager to add more quality to his side in an attempt to balance the responsibilities of domestic action with a genuine push in Europe.
Reports suggest that Ramos and Schweinsteiger are wanted, with the duo experienced campaigners.
Both players have lifted their respective divisional trophies – La Liga and the Bundesliga – won the Champions League and helped their nations to World Cup glory in glittering careers.
Ramos would provide greater quality in defence, while Schweinsteger would present LVG with a genuine alternative to Michael Carrick, who will be 34 soon.
