The World Cup winner moved to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich only last summer, after lifting eight Bundesliga titles with the German giants.
But the German international – who looks set to feature against France in Thursday’s Euro 2016 semi-final – managed just 13 Premier League starts during his debut campaign with the Red Devils amid a host of continuous injury problems.
Following similar reports from German publication Sport Bild, The Daily Mail claim the Red Devils are ready to cash-in on the 31-year-old amid interest from PSG.
The French champions are yet to table a formal bid but have expressed an interest and United are willing to open talks over a summer move.
Meanwhile, PSG physio Dario Fort could move the other way amid rumours he’s looking to leave Parc De Princes.
He’s worked closely with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and could link up with the United signing once again at Old Trafford.
