Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic has been released on a free transfer after Inter Milan officially terminated his contract, according to reports from the Guardian.
Vidic left Manchester in the summer of 2014 to join the Nerazzurri, but the Serbia international struggled with injuries and a dip in form at the Guiseppe Meazza, making just 28 appearances for the Serie A giants.
With hernia and back problems this term, Vidic has not featured once for Inter and has been released in order to search for a new club.
The 34-year-old is reportedly considering a switch to Major League Soccer – where he would join a host of ex-Premier League stars such as Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard – but this is yet to be confirmed by the player.
Vidic was a rock in Man United’s defence for nine seasons, winning one Champions League medal and five Premier League titles.
