Although watching the Champions League may be a sore subject for Manchester United fans, any that saw Monaco in action last night will have been wowed.
In case you’re not following us, the Red Devils have been aligned with the Ligue 1 side’s Brazilian full-back-come-central midfielder Fabinho of late, with Jose Mourinho seemingly a huge fan of the player, who spent a brief loan period at Real Madrid under ‘the Special One’.
Monaco drew away in Russia with CSKA Moscow, coming from behind after Lacina Traore had netted… against the club from which he’s on loan! Fabinho was the main talking point, though, playing in his new central midfield role.
The 24-year-old sprayed 66 passes, completed seven take-ons from his central berth, created one chance and made four tackles and interceptions.
Although he’s likely being eyed as a right-back by Mourinho, it must have given him a fair bit to think about.
