Man United looking to slash loanee’s massive fee

Manchester United will look negotiate a discount on the £43m fee agreed to make Radamel Falcao’s loan move from Monaco a permanent one in the summer, according to reports from The Telegraph.

As a part of the stunning swoop for the Colombian, the Red Devils inserted a clause to snap him up for the aforementioned fee, which would be paid on top of the £4.6m to get him to Old Trafford for the season.

Although Falcao has not been quite the hit Louis van Gaal may have hoped he would be, the Dutchman has opened the door for a switch by suggesting that he still has time on his hands to justify a full transfer.

The 28-year-old’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has already talked up his client’s chances of joining another big club, but with the player unlikely to return to Monaco and concrete interest not a reality as it stands, United are considering renegotiating a deal with the Ligue 1 side.

Falcao played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win at QPR on Saturday, but there are fears surrounding his fitness following a serious knee injury suffered last year.
