Man United name price for in-demand No.1

According to reports from The Express this morning, Manchester United have revealed their price for No.1 goalkeeper David De Gea, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.

The European champions’ interest stems from, firstly, the Spain international’s phenomenal form this season, as the only goalkeeper nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Year award, and secondly, due to his Old Trafford contract verging upon it’s final year – meaning the Red Devils will be forced to sell if they’re approached with a decent offer this summer.

And according to the British tabloid, United have informed the Bernabeu outfit they want a whopping £45million for their Player of the Year – which would smash Gigi Buffon’s current status as the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.

But, the Old Trafford side will also expect any sale of David De Gea to improve their chances of signing Gareth Bale. Although they aren’t planning a straight swap deal for both stars, they want their pursuit of the Welshman to become part of the negotiating process.
