Manchester United‘s Ander Herrera says that he’s more than ready to fill in for Angel di Maria while the Argentine is out of action.
The Red Devils’ record signing limped off early on on Saturday as Louis van Gaal’s men beat Hull, and is set to miss the midweek clash with Stoke.
Di Maria has been, arguably, United’s best signing of a busy summer, and, prior to their last win, had contributed almost half of the club’s assists in Premier League action.
Conversely, Herrera – another addition during the last window – has made a slow start to life at Old Trafford, with his last start having been way back in October.
It’s likely the Spaniard will be handed Di Maria’s role on Tuesday, and he says that he’s prepared to fill in for his crocked team-mate:
“I played like a No.10 and it is good because I can change positions,” he told United’s official website. “I can give the manager more options.
“I think this was the best game of this season for us but we have to keep working and keep winning games because we want to be in the top places in the league.”
