Man United not back in for summer target

Manchester United are unlikely to re-enter the race for Juventus’ Arturo Vidal, with reports from talkSPORT claiming that their interest in the midfielder has cooled.

The Chile international’s future was one of the major sagas of the summer transfer window last year, with the Red Devils linked with moves for him on an almost daily basis.

Despite claims that he had agreed personal terms to relocate to Old Trafford, the transfer never went through, and the 27-year-old has since stayed in Turin.

And a fresh swoop for his signature now looks to be off the agenda, with the club having not been impressed by his performances this season.

A long-term knee injury caused Vidal to endure a stuttering start to the campaign, and despite the Old Lady sitting atop Serie A, he has not been quite the same player he was last season.

The South American is known for his energy and industry and has long been hailed as one of the best box-to-box players around.
