Manchester United are determined to push through a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos, despite the French champions’ reluctance to let the defender leave the Parc des Princes, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old centre-back is one of football’s most highly-rated young enforcers, but his future with the Ligue 1 giants has become unclear in recent times.
Despite only arriving from Roma in a big money deal in 2013, the fledging talent is believed to be growing frustrated with life at PSG and his role as back-up to compatriots Thiago Silva and David Luiz.
United were linked with a late move for Marquinhos during the last transfer window, however the deal collapsed as the Parisians dug in their heels to keep the starlet.
But, Louis van Gaal remains keen, with bolstering his defensive options a priority heading into the next transfer window.
Should United look to offer more than £30m for the South American, PSG may be willing to negotiate a deal.
