Manchester United have been put on red alert following reports that Lucas Biglia has rejected a new deal at Lazio, according to the Express.
The Argentine midfielder had been linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer, but ultimately stayed in Rome.
Some reports indicate that the maestro is seeking an improvement on his £1.7m a year current deal, looking to take his annual pay up to £2.2m.
The former Anderlecht ace in under contract with the Serie A titans until 2017, but the club may look to sell before he enters the closing 12 months of his deal.
Despite the rumours linking the Red Devils with a move for him, they instead moved for midfield men Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Express go on to indicate that Lazio’s apparent £17.7m asking price for the Argentine put Louis van Gaal and Ed Woodward off in their search for new additions.
United, however, may seek to sign the player when the transfer window re opens in January.
