Man United on the heels of Dutch international

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is keen on bringing Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi to the club, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The defender worked under van Gaal during his time with the Dutch national squad, as the Oranje reached the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup.

A former Feyenoord player, he joined the Portuguese side last summer in a deal reported to be worth around eight million euros, and played in their recent 2-1 over Chelsea in the Champions League.

Reports suggest the Old Trafford outfit had scouts in attendance in order to run the rule over a potential deal for the 23-year old.

The Dutchman is equally as comfortable deployed as either a central defender, or a left sided full-back.

With current Red Devil Luke Shaw expected to be out for around six months after suffering a double broken leg, van Gaal could be tempted into making a move for some defensive cover.
