Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo rejected a deadline day move to Monaco, according to MirrorFootball.
The Argentine was offered to the Ligue 1 outfit as part of the deal that saw 19-year-old French wonderkid Anthony Martial move to Old Trafford in a £36m deal earlier this week.
But Rojo is believed to have rejected a move away from Manchester in order to force his way back in to manager Louis van Gaal’s plans.
The defender only arrived from Sporting Lisbon in a £16million deal last summer but has since seen his first team opportunities limited under van Gaal.
The Dutch boss is reportedly frustrated with Rojo’s behaviour over the summer, where he failed to to meet up with the squad for pre-season duties because of a “passport fiasco.”
But van Gaal’s efforts to part ways with his defender resulted in Rojo declaring his determination to get back in to the first-team.
Rojo has made 22 league appearances for the Red Devils since his arrival last August.
