Man United plotting world record bid for La Liga ace

Manchester United are ready to test Real Madrid’s willingness to keep hold of Gareth Bale with a world record bid next year, according to reports from Fichajes.

The Welshman only joined Los Blancos last year from Spurs in an £86m deal – smashing the highest summer ever paid, £80m for team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo – and has enjoyed a successful spell at the Bernabeu so far.

However, with United planning an era of large spending on global stars, Bale has emerged as a major target.

The Red Devils are reportedly looking to boost their value by becoming the planet’s largest football club, and see a ‘Galatico’ era as the way to do just that.

Bale is seen as the man to get things going, with a world record bid in the offing.

Reports suggest that United are ready go north of £90m for the player, but with Real keen to keep him, it may take a bid of over £100m to persuade them to sell.

The Wales international is known to be content in Spain, but the lure of a mega contract and a return to the UK may tempt him.
