Manchester United are plotting an utterly sensational deal to bring Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford next summer, according to the Daily Star.
The Chilean has become one of the Gunners’ star performers since arriving from Barcelona in 2014 for around £35m.
Reports suggest that Red Devils chief Louis van Gaal has contacted the player’s representatives to inform them of his desire to bring the player to Old Trafford next summer.
It is understood that the Dutchman is prepared to part with a whopping £53m in order land the 26-year old following the end of the current season.
He moved to Europe with Udinese in 2006, and his performances in Serie A prompted Barcelona to shell out £25m in order to sign him five years later.
He has netted 22 times in the Premier League, largely from a wide forward berth, as well as becoming the first player to notch a hat-trick in the Italian, Spanish and English top divisions.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger would loathe to lose his star player, and will reportedly try to convince him to stay in North London.
