Manchester United are plotting a sensational £30m move for AC Milan’s 16-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports.
The teenager is already the Serie A heavyweights’ No.1 despite his youthful age after he dislodged veteran Spaniard Diego Lopez earlier this season.
Donnarumma has been compared to legendary Italian goalie Gianluigi Buffon and is being tipped to develop into one of the best players in his position, and it seems that his potential has alerted United.
Football Italia, citing Mediaset, claim that the Manchester giants are already considering a summer move for the youngster and are willing to pay £30m for his signature.
Donnarumma could be a potential replacement for David de Gea, with Real Madrid thought to be plotting a fresh move for the Old Trafford glovesman at the end of the season after their failed 2015 attempts to lure him back to La Liga.
Although the Milan stopper is just 16, he’s kept three clean sheets in 11 league matches this term.
