Man United ready to axe star, but Chelsea & Liverpool deals not on

Manchester United are considering cancelling Victor Valdes’ contract, but only if the Spaniard goes on to play for a side outside of England, according to reports from ESPN.

The former Barcelona star joined the Red Devils after six months without a club over the winter, but has already been deemed surplus to requirements.

His spat with Louis van Gaal has now got to the point that the goalkeeper is not allowed to train at the same time as the club’s other first-team stars and he is yet to be included in a match-day squad this season, despite David de Gea’s transfer saga earlier this term.

And now reports claim that United are considering terminating his contract, but only on the basis that he will not move to a domestic rival.

The 33-year-old has been linked with surprise moves to both Liverpool and Chelsea of late, but the Manchester giants are not keen on the idea of the veteran stopper going on to represent another English side.

Valdes is thought to be keen to move on and get his career back on track, and there have been links with Turkish sides Besiktas and Antalyaspor in recent memory.
