Man United ready to give exit-linked ace another chance

Manchester United have rebuffed an approach from West Ham for Javier Hernandez, with Louis van Gaal ready to hand the Mexican another chance at Old Trafford, according to reports from Metro.

‘Chicharito’ spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and was widely believed to have no future under LVG at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, with Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao having been allowed to leave, the latter’s loan deal expired, it seems that Van Gaal has altered his stance.

Reports claim that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic launched an enquiry to set the ball rolling for Hernandez to move to East London, but United knocked back their request as they still regard the penalty-box predator as a first-team player.

As it stands, the former Chivas Guadalajara ace is battling with James Wilson to be back-up to Wayne Rooney, although this may change if Van Gaal brings in another star.

Hernandez has also been linked with a surprise move to Major League Soccer newbies, Orlando City.
