Man United ready to make top target club’s highest earner

Manchester United are ready to hand Gareth Bale a staggering £300,000-per-week salary to leave Real Madrid this summer, according to reports from The Metro.

The Welshman has emerged as a top target for the Red Devils of late, with reports throughout the winter period having suggested that a world record fee of over £100m could be paid for him.

Bale has only been at Real for just over 18 months after moving to the Bernabeu for £86m, but there have been recent suggestions that all is not well between the ex-Southampton and Spurs man and club talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, after the latter reacted angrily to a goal from his team-mate over the weekend.

This has alerted United, who are keen to lure the flying winger back to the Premier League with a salary of £300,000-per-week.

Such a contract would make Bale the club’s highest earner, ahead of captain Wayne Rooney.
