Indeed, he’s lifted four consecutive Serie A titles and reached a Champions League final with the Old Lady, won Europe’s prestigious Golden Boy award and is now a key component of France’s semi-final-reaching Euro 2016 squad.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a return to United continuously in recent weeks and The Telegraph now bill him as the Red Devils’ priority target following talks between Jose Mourinho and the club’s chief executive Ed Woodward.

An official bid is expected soon and The Telegraph believe it could be worth an eye-watering £100million, which would eclipse the current world-record transfer fee Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale in summer 2013.
