Man United readying big January move

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is ready to make an early move for Kevin Strootman next month, according to reports from CalcioMercato.

The Holland international – whom LVG coached at international level until he switched to Old Trafford over the summer – is known to be a player the Red Devils boss admires, which has led to talk of a £30m+ move.

But with Strootman having spent much of 2014 on the sidelines with a troublesome knee injury, rumours have suggested that Van Gaal is ready to hold off until the end of the season before luring him from Roma to United.

However, now reports claim that his return to fitness has prompted a change in stance from the experienced gaffer, who is now ready to make a move earlier than scheduled.

The Serie A side are, however, far from keen to sell, and are likely to hold out for a massive fee for the former PSV Eindhoven ace.
