Man United readying move for highly-rated Chelsea-linked striker

Manchester United are eyeing a move for Mainz’s Yoshinori Muto, who has been dubbed the ‘Japanese Lionel Messi’, according to reports from Don Balon.

The 23-year-old only joined the Bundesliga side last summer, but his impact in Germany has been a great one – he’s netted seven goals in 17 games for his current side already.

Chelsea made a move for the 23-year-old while he was still plying his trade with FC Tokyo back in his homeland, and reports now claim that United are looking to lure him to Old Trafford.

Muto’s skilful playing style and small build have already seen him lauded as his nation’s potential answer to Ballon d’Or winner Messi, and he could make a quick impact at the Theatre of Dreams should a move materialise given the struggles of Memphis Depay and Wayne Rooney.

Further to this, the addition of the youngster may help to grow the club’s already vast presence in East Asia.
