Man United remain in talks for £15m-rated Copa America ace

Manchester United are still keen on Monaco’s Fabinho and are locked in talks with the Ligue 1 club regarding the Brazilian, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The 21-year-old is currently away with the Selecao – where he’s playing alongside another Red Devils target Roberto Firmino – and has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.

Recent reports have claimed that United have made the bombarding full-back a major target, and now it’s believed that they’re in talks with Monaco after making contact with an initial £10m deal.

The Stade Louis II outfit, however, want around £15m for their man, which would hand them a quick profit on the £4m fee paid to Rio Ave to make his loan spell a permanent one recently.

Fabinho impressed last term for Monaco, helping them to knock Arsenal out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage.

His potential addition could be a wise one for United, with Louis van Gaal’s persistence with Antonio Valencia, a wide attacker, at right-back last season illustrating a lack of options in the position.
