Man United scouting ‘Portuguese Eden Hazard’ ahead of January

Manchester United have had scouts in Portugal to watch Braga’s Rafa Silva in action of late, according to reports from Metro.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has emerged as one of the stars of the Primeira Liga in recent times and is widely hailed as one of the best talents outside of the Porto, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon powerbase.

His neat skills and direct running have drawn comparisons with Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard, and reports claim that United have been watching his progress closely in recent weeks.

United manager Louis van Gaal has already outlined the need for more pace and creativity in his XI, which Silva could bring.

The Manchester giants are currently firmly in the title race, but the brand of football being played by LVG’s men has been labelled ‘dull’ by many fans.

Silva has been capped five times at senior international level, while his side currently occupy third spot in Portugal’s top tier.
