Man United set to miss out on Juventus-bound hitman

Manchester United‘s summer plans have been dealt a major blow with news that striking target Mario Mandzukic has agreed a deal with Serie A giants Juventus, according to the Sun on Sunday.

Red Devils boss Van Gaal had reportedly made the Atletico Madrid hitman his primary target to replace the misfiring Radamel Falcao, who spent last season on loan at Old Trafford.

However, Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that the club are set to sign the Croatia forward, forcing van Gaal to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.

Mandzukic future at the Vicente Calderon has been thrown into doubt in recent weeks despite the fact he netted 20 goals in his debut season at the club.

Despite United’s interest in the former Bayern Munich striker, it appears as though he will be on his way to the Old Lady, who are expected to see Carlos Tevez leave for Boca Juniors this summer.
