Bastian Schweinsteiger is attracting much interest amid doubts about his Manchester United future, with rival Premier League teams among the chasing pack, according to reports.
The Germany international only signed for the Red Devils last summer under the reign of Louis van Gaal and was initially tipped to become the driving force in the club’s midfield.
However, the now 32-year-old failed to make any sort of impact under LVG and recent reports have suggested that ‘Schweini’ leads an extensive list of senior players Jose Mourinho is actively trying to offload.
And now ESPN, citing Press Association Sport, have claimed that interest in the veteran star is strong, with Premier League clubs among those keen.
Unfortunately there is no indication as to which teams are chasing Schweinsteiger, but given his wage demands and status in the game it’s likely these clubs are from the upper midtable realm of the division.
Meanwhile, the same report claims that Juan Mata will be kept on, despite links with Everton.
