Man United star attracting lucrative Chinese interest (not Rooney)

Manchester United‘s Michael Carrick is the latest big name European player to attract serious attention from Chinese Super League sides, according to reports from The Express.

The 34-year-old Red Devils vice-captain is set to be a free agent in a few months’ time and is thought to be considering his future with a new deal not on the table from the Old Trafford giants.

And this has, according to reports, piqued the interest of Chinese teams, with the Super League now attracting top stars.

Carrick is firmly in the latter phase of his career, so the chance to earn one last big pay-day may tempt him.

Wayne Rooney has also been aligned with a big move to the Far East, however, he’s thought to be against the idea for now.

England international Carrick has often been lauded as one of the best passers in the modern game, and his lack of mobility might be less of an issue in China.
