Crisis? What crisis? Manchester United have bossed Spurs so far at Old Trafford, pulling the Londoners back and forth with a performances that may well end the Lilywhites’ top four hopes. And the man at the fulcrum of all that’s been good about their play so far is Michael Carrick.
Often criticised for being crab like in his passing, slow on the ball and reluctant to take charge, the England veteran has cast off the shackles so far, creating the opening goal for Marouane Fellaini before burying a lovely header to make it 2-0.
United fans haven’t had too much to cheer about in recent times, despite their side sitting fourth, so it’s only natural that many went into meltdown after Carrick scored. Scholes comparisons, talk of the saviour and Champions league qualification guarantees, they were all present!

Michael Carrick is proving to be exactly what we were missing. He’s given the team much more confidence and creativity so far in the game.
