Victor Valdes is close to ending his Manchester United nightmare with Standard Liege ready to make a loan offer for his services, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Valdes signed for the Red Devils in the January transfer window last year on a free, but the goalkeeper has been exiled from the squad following a summer bust-up with manager Louis van Gaal.
The former Barcelona star has only managed to make two league appearances during this time at Old Trafford, and has not even been allowed to train with the first-team for some time.
His frustrations have seen the likes of Newcastle United linked with moves for his signature, but selling a player to a domestic rival opens up a whole set of potential issues.
But, according to reports, the 33-year-old is now considering a switch to Belgian side Standard Liege, with the two clubs in negotiations over his wages.
During his time with Barcelona, Valdes won an incredible six La Liga titles and three Champions League medals.
