Manchester United are currently scouting Sporting Lisbon duo William Carvalho and Joao Mario ahead of the upcoming transfer window, A Bola reports.
Club scouts were present to watch the two players feature for the Portuguese giants during their 1-0 victory over Moreirense.
Carvalho has also been a top transfer target for rivals Arsenal over the past few years who may step up their chase for the 24-year-old midfielder in the summer.
Mario, 23, has also emerged as a possible attacking target for United after recently impressing for the Lisbon club.
Jose Mourinho is being heavily tipped to replace current boss Louis van Gaal and given his close ties with Porto and his national roots, he’s sure to have a deep knowledge of the Primeira Liga.
Carvalho has already featured 31 times in all competitions this term, scoring three while providing another two assists.
Meanwhile, Mario has made 41 appearances so far this season, scoring six while providing another 10 assists in the process.
