PSG are said to have even tabled an offer worth £27.5million, but the Portuguese giants immediately rejected the bid as they expect a lot more for their star player.

Sporting have placed a £47million valuation on the winger, but his father, Joao Mario Eduardo is set to meet with the club to discuss his future amid interest over a switch to the Premier League.

“That’s what we will evaluate when I meet Sporting,” he said.

“I’m in Luanda and I’ll be back on Thursday, then we’ll talk. Joao has offers but he can stay as well.

“If he leaves Sporting, his preference is England.”

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is believed to be interested in reinforcing his attack during the summer despite doubts over his future at the club, with the Sporting ace an option.

Mario managed to feature in 33 league matches for his side this term, so far scoring seven goals while providing another 12 assists in the process.
