Moyes is desperate to land a marquee midfielder to strengthen the Manchester United side he inherited from Sir Alex Ferguson this summer, yet it looks as if Fellaini and Fabregas are both further than ever from moving to Old Trafford. Speaking of the Fabregas situation, Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova said yesterday ‘there have been offers for him from other clubs, but I spoke with Cesc and he told me he was determined to stay here and be successful’.
Moyes may find Fabregas’ wishes to be the smallest of the hurdles to overcome in landing him. Despite Vilanova’s comments, Sky Sources understand that several Premier League clubs are interested in Fabregas and there is nothing concrete to say he favours a move to Manchester United.
Fellaini has become one of the most recognised players in the Premier League and Moyes may feel trying to land him this summer is more trouble than it’s worth. In contrast, Cabaye slipped slightly under the radar last season as Newcastle endured a tough season.
Yet, the Frenchman has won several admirers since arriving in the North East from Lille in 2011 for a bargain £4million. He made 32 appearances for Newcastle last season and has played for France. PSG are also said to be tracking him.
Manchester United fans, is Cabaye the answer?
