Man United to take on Arsenal & Chelsea for strike ace

New Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is ready to take on Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for unsettled Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Croatian hit-man has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, with the Gunners and the Blues thought to have been his most likely destinations.

But now it has emerged that van Gaal is ready to take advantage of the player’s uncertain future at the Allianz Arena with a summer offer.

Bayern manager Pep Guardiola is understood to have grown frustrated with his star’s attitude after a falling out following their Champions League elimination at the hands of Real Madrid.

Thomas Muller was rumoured to be van Gaal’s top target from the Bavarians, but now he is more inclined to land a specialist goal-getter in the mould of Mandzukic.

The player himself is understood to be free to leave for a respectable offer, with Robert Lewandowski set to join Bayern from bitter rivals Dortmund and take the role at the tip of the club’s attack.
