Manchester United have lodged a release clause-triggering £15.5m move for Braga’s Rafa Silva and are willing to push the deal through this summer if Jose Mourinho succeeds Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford dugout, according to reports from ITA Sport Press.
‘The Special One’ is expected to take the spot in the Red Devils’ hot-seat this summer, with a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ thought to have been reached between the club and the ex-Chelsea boss with LVG under an immense level of pressure amid some poor results.
Although Mourinho has his critics – Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton supposedly among them – it seems that the club are willing to back the Portuguese tactician should his much talked about switch come to fruition, with Silva a player he reportedly likes and wants.
The 22-year-old winger is considered to be one of the top talents in the Primeira Liga and the Manchester heavyweights are believed to have put forward a £15.5m offer, which they will act on this summer if ‘Mou’ takes the job.
Silva has been capped five times by Portugal and looks on course to book a spot in their EURO 2016 squad.
