The 20-year-old is rated as one of the Red Devils’ most exciting youngsters, reaching the U20 World Cup final with Brazil in 2015.
He won the club’s Reserve Player of the Year award during the same year and has already made eleven outings for the Red Devils’ first team, including three Premier League appearances last season.
Pereira was reportedly told he wouldn’t be in Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans this season earlier in the summer, but the Old Trafford outfit remain keen to hold onto the youngster.
They are, however, looking to loan him out to a Premier League club for the 2016/17 campaign, echoing the deal they struck with Sunderland over Adnan Januzaj earlier this month.
And currently, Middlesbrough – managed by Mourinho’s former colleague Aitor Karanka – are in the frame to sign the South American playmaker on a season-long loan.
