Manchester United claim they are not signing Nicolas Otamendi this summer and striker Javier Hernandez is now expected to stay at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Star.
Yesterday Spanish TV station SillasGol claimed they had seen legal documents that proved the Red Devils were on the verge of completing a £35million transfer for Otamendi.
The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League all summer, and it had initially looked as if United were going to finally the 27-year-old Valencia man to Old Trafford.
But the Daily Star are now reporting boss Louis van Gaal has no intention of signing him this summer.
Meanwhile, Mexican striker Javier Hernandez looks set to stay at the club for the remainder of his contract, despite being linked with a £12million move to West Ham.
Tottenham were also keeping tabs on the 27-year-old’s situation, but the Daily Star claim van Gaal has decided he wants Hernandez as his second choice striker behind Wayne Rooney.
