Man United turn to Colombian as Vidal deal falls apart

Manchester United are prepared to turn to Fredy Guarin with their hopes of landing Arturo Vidal from Juventus fading by the day, according to reports from the The Express.

The Red Devils are understood to have been negotiating with the Serie A giants for some time to land the Chilean star, but speculation suggests that a deal may be not be doable with just under two weeks of the transfer window remaining.

Various outlets have implied that a contract of around £200,000-per-week has been agreed with the 27-year-old, but Juve have remained adamant that they will not sell.

Nani’s imminent loan move to Sporting Lisbon also hints that the agreement may be off, with the Old Lady rumoured to have wanted the winger as part of any transfer

But with Louis van Gaal thought to be desperate to add some steel and energy to his midfield the club have switched targets, with Guarin on their radar.

The Colombian is not dissimilar to Vidal in his playing style, and reports suggest that Inter Milan are prepared to accept offers of around £15m-£20m for him – a fraction of the £40m+ Juve want for their man.

It’s believed that the Red Devils have asked the San Siro giants about a deal and have also sounded out Guarin’s agent regarding his interest in a switch to Old Trafford.
