Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is ready to bring Adnan Januzaj back into the first-team after he impressed for the club’s U-21 side, Mirror reports.
The 20-year-old was recently re-called from his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, despite previously agreeing to spend the entire season with the Bundesliga side.
He managed to net two goals against Southampton’s U-21s on Monday, impressing Van Gaal, who could now give him an opportunity in the senior team.
Januzaj was hoping he would be given more playing time upon his move to Dortmund, but was only able to register three starts from a total of 12 appearances and was unable to find the back of the net even once.
The Belgium international starred under former manager David Moyes two seasons ago, playing 35 matches, but has been unable to retain his regular role following the appointment of Van Gaal.
However, it is expected that, following his performance for the U-21 team, the winger will be named in the 18-man squad that will face Southampton this weekend.
