Manchester United probably couldn’t have wished for a better start to the new Premier League season.
The first bout pitted them against their bitter rivals, Chelsea, and the Red Devils comfortably clinched all three points in front of their own fans at Old Trafford.
Credit has to somewhat be given to the Blues as well since the final 4-0 scoreline didn’t really do them justice, but there’s no escaping the fact Manchester United were, when everything is said and done, the superior team.
What’s even more impressive is that they had three Premier League debutants in their lineup as well: Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.
Jesse Lingard made sure they felt welcome at the Theatre of Dreams as he posted a brilliant Instagram snap, tagging them all in the process.
Lingard also put their respective nicknames next to their real names, calling Wan-Bissaka Spidey, James Flash and Maguire the Beast, most likely drawing inspiration from popular comic superheroes.
All three seemingly recorded good performances with their first steps at Old Trafford, but now they have to keep it up in the upcoming challenges that await.
