Writing in his column for The Times, Tony Cascarino has labelled Aaron Ramsey as the "perfect fit" for Manchester United.

What did he say?

The Wales international joined Serie A giants Juventus from Arsenal last summer on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract at the Emirates.

However, things have not quite been plain sailing over in Italy for the central midfielder, with just 12 appearances in the league to his name. Indeed, according to Tuttosport (via Football Italia), Juventus are already planning to sell Ramsey.

And Cascarino has delivered his verdict on what the Welshman could potentially bring to United were he to join. He said: "Ramsey would be the perfect fit for United. Ramsey played in Juventus’ defeat away to Verona on Saturday but it was fairly typical of his first season in Italy as he came on as a substitute and didn’t have an impact on the game.

"I can see the former Arsenal man back in the Premier League next season. Reports linking him to Manchester United make a lot of sense as he is the sort of player they need – a proven midfielder with goalscoring pedigree and plenty of Premier League experience. I could see him not costing too much, with Juventus possibly settling for £20 million as that would get them most of their outlay back."

Major coup

Whilst Ramsey may not exactly be setting the world alight in Italy, his time in English football should not be forgotten.

The Wales international proved himself to be an elite performer for Arsenal, including scoring two FA Cup final winning goals against Hull and Chelsea respectively. That kind of big-game mentality is exactly the kind of profile that would fit in perfectly at Old Trafford - not to mention the fact that he also has an impressive tally of 40 goals and 51 assists in 262 games in the Premier League .

Having already seen the benefits of snaring one of Arsenal's former top talents away in Robin van Persie - the Dutchman of course winning the Premier League title in his first season at United - the Red Devils could deliver a similarly damaging blow to their rivals by snapping up Ramsey so soon after he left them.

Meanwhile, Man Utd should turn to this academy starlet as a potential successor to Paul Pogba.
