Bruno Fernandes may have only been on the pitch for about ten minutes against Club Brugge on Thursday night, but he showed Manchester United exactly what he will bring to the table.

The Portugal international arrived in the final week of the January transfer window from Sporting CP, and has enjoyed a fine start to life at Old Trafford, providing the assist for Harry Maguire's goal in the 2-0 win over Chelsea.

On Thursday, he was left on the bench by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but was thrown on late in the game to try and inspire a winner. Whilst he didn't manage to do that, his cameo had its moments of brilliance, not least a sumptuous chipped pass that Juan Mata failed to convert.

As per Sofascore, he had a 100% pass accuracy, had four shots blocked, completed one dribble, and won three out of his four total duels.

After seeing his substitute appearance, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on their January signing's performance.

Some fans hailed the impact Fernandes had when he came on, with one supporter in particular saying that it said a lot about the rest of the team that the Portuguese star could completely flip the game.

One supporter of the Manchester side meanwhile simply insisted that he is "light years better than Pereira and Lingard".

Having played on Monday evening against Chelsea, it is perhaps understandable why Solskjaer opted to leave Fernandes on the bench against Brugge.

When did that happen?! Premier League experts will know which surprising clubs these stars once played for...

But the Portuguese ace's electric display in the limited time that he was on the pitch showed the United manager that he simply has to play him from now on.

Fernandes was a real live-wire, and the fact that he just one less shot than Mata and Jesse Lingard combined showed how he really picked up the pace for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Man Utd fans slam this prospect's display against Club Brugge.
