Having joined from Sporting CP when Louis van Gaal was manager, Marcos Rojo hasn't exactly enjoyed the greatest of Manchester United careers.

The Argentina international has struggled to nail down a place in the first-team, and since his arrival back in the summer of 2014 for a reported fee of £16m, he has made just 117 appearances across all competitions.

Following Axel Tuanzebe's withdrawal in the warm-up before the clash against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, Rojo was the man to come in.

The 29-year-old had a generally solid game at the back, making five clearances and one tackle as the Red Devils almost clinched a precious victory. But the Argentine's standout moment of the match came when he smashed the ball into a grounded Adam Lallana, before doing the exact same to Roberto Firmino seconds later.
