After joining from Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2018 for a fee in the region of £47m, Fred has taken a while to settle into life at Manchester United.

The Brazil international managed just 25 appearances across all competitions last season, with only 17 of them coming in the Premier League. Then, his pre-season this summer was disrupted by his wedding, causing him to miss several games at the beginning of the current campaign.

But since forcing his way back into the first-team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the 26-year-old has established himself as a key part of the group, and has now played in the previous eight games in the top-flight - including completing the full 90 minutes in the last five.

Against Brighton on Sunday, Fred delivered another impressive display at the heart of the midfield, and as per Sofascore, won six duels, made two tackles and completed five of his six attempted long balls.

After seeing his performance, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the former Shakhtar man.

Many Red Devils supporters hailed his rapid improvements this season, with one fan in particular paying respect to former manager Jose Mourinho once saying that it would be a "step-by-step" adaptation for the 26-year-old.
