The Manchester United defender, signed when Jose Mourinho was in charge back in 2016, was in inspired form at Stamford Bridge, helping the Red Devils to a priceless win in their battle for qualification to the Champions League.

As per Sofascore, he won six of his total nine duels, blocked three shots (including one spectacular last-ditch one to deny Mateo Kovacic), and completed three of his four attempted long balls.

After seeing Bailly's display, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the Ivory Coast international.

Some fans insisted that when he's fit, Bailly can count himself as the best centre-back at the club, whilst one excited supporter even suggested he is the "best in the world".

Another couple of United supporters brought Victor Lindelof into the conversation, with one fan in particular hoping that Bailly benches him.

Could Bailly now have forced himself into the starting line-up for United for the rest of the season?

Lindelof will of course have something to say about that, but it would be incredibly difficult for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to now drop Bailly from the team.
