In his time at Manchester United, Ander Herrera was always one who seemed to give it his all and left everything out there on the pitch.

The Spaniard joined the club in the summer of 2014 from La Liga outfit Athletic Bilbao, and as per Whoscored, never averaged less than two tackles per game in the Premier League.

But in his final season at Old Trafford, the 30-year-old was used rather more sparingly, making just 22 appearances in the top-flight. In the end, he was let go by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, and promptly joined French giants PSG.

And now, in an interview with French publication So Foot (as quoted by The Manchester Evening News), the midfielder delivered a damning verdict on the culture at United.

He said: "I was immensely happy in Manchester but in the club there were times when I felt that football was not considered the most important thing.  I don’t know, but football was not the most important thing in Manchester."

After hearing Herrera's comments, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter.

Many Red Devils supporters threw their backing behind their former ace's verdict on their club, and insisted that he is simply talking facts.
