Having signed Harry Maguire from Leicester for a world-record fee for a defender, it's fair to say Manchester United have an abundance of options at centre-back.

The likes of Victor Lindelof, Axel Tuanzebe, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly, amongst others, still remain at the club, whilst a potential departure for Marcos Rojo failed to materialise this summer.

The Argentina international was the subject of late interest from Everton, but a reported deadline day move fell through after it was claimed the Toffees were put off by United's valuation.

Now, The Times claim Joel and Avram Glazer blocked Rojo's move to the Toffees as they deemed the Merseyside club as rivals for a top-four spot.
