Manchester United breezed into the next round of the FA Cup with a resounding victory up at League One outfit Tranmere Rovers earlier this afternoon.

The Red Devils fired six goals past the home side with five coming in the first half at Prenton Park.

Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot and Jesse Lingard put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side 3-0 up inside the first 16 minutes before Phil Jones and Anthony Martial added their names to the scoresheet.

The rout was complete 11 minutes into the second period when Mason Greenwood got in on the action, slotting home from the penalty spot.

Solskjaer opted to run a change in system with United lining up in what appeared to be a 3-4-1-2 formation, and it has led to fans lapping up the performance of one man who benefitted from such a decision.

Dalot was handed the starting reigns at right wing-back over Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Here's what the fans said following his display...

Several supporters praised his ability, highlighting his crossing and skill whilst one declared that the Portuguese was without a doubt the Man of the Match following his quality performance on the right flank.

Per SofaScore, the 20-year-old recorded two successful crosses, three tackles and had three shots at goal.

Others have pondered whether or not he should be played as a winger more often in the side as they believe Solskjaer currently lacks a reliable option in the role.

'Absolutely a right midfielder' was a shout from one member of the travelling faithful while another said he could fix their issues at right-wing.

It has also led to some supporters firing comparisons left, right and centre...

A further fan suggested that Dalot was better than Dan James, despite being a defender by trade while one went as far as suggesting that he was a better than fellow summer signing Wan-Bissaka.

Who on earth is that?!?! Can you name all of these obscure January signings?

The Red Devils now await their reward in the fifth round with the draw coming on Monday night.
